Borrowers who have a complete Federal Consolidation Loan application submitted to Wells Fargo by midnight on May 15, 2008, and existing Wells Fargo Federal Consolidation Loan borrowers are not affected. Consolidation is not necessarily the lowest-cost option. Borrowers with Wells Fargo federal student loans who are interested in reducing their monthly payments may call us toll-free at 1-800-658-3567 to discuss extended or graduated repayment plans. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Education does offer the Federal Direct Consolidation Loan. Borrowers may contact the Department to pursue this option. |
