Forbearance Information
Forbearance is a period of time during which the borrower is permitted to temporarily cease making payments. Interest continues to accrue on the loan during the forbearance period. A parent borrower who wants to postpone payment on a Federal PLUS Loan for parents during a student's in-school period can use the Standard Forbearance (PDF).*
